While our original goal was simply to save the Derry~Londonderry railway when it was threatened with closure in the early 2000s, in response to public support, our campaign has since expanded to include restoring of former rail services that were closed.

In recent years, railway closures have been reversed in England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. There have yet to be any railtrack re-openings in Northern Ireland, a region that proportionately suffered more cuts that elsewhere, but we now believe the time has come.
